curly quotes vs. straight quotes (again)

I've mentioned this before, but I'll mention it again - is there any way Bookends could fix quotes to curly quotes when doing an import? either that, or get Mellel to fix them to curly's. It is frustrating having to fix so much of the citations that should just be a simple import.

Bookends doesn't automatically add or remove smart quotes -- it imports/exports whatever is entered in the reference or format.
