Add-in with multiple versions of MS Word

Post by Twist »

Can anyone help out with this? I'm trialling Word 2008 and of course BE functionality is key. I'm using v10.2.

My problem is that I have retained a copy of MS Office 2004 while I decide if I like Office 2008, and when I drag the new BE Add-in to Documents/Microsoft User Data/Word Script Menu Items then restart Word 2008, no toolbar appears (or inclusion of BE in the Tools menu).

However, the new add-in seems to be 'forcing' the BE toolbar onto my old version of Word 2004. I suspect this is the case as I generally never have the toolbar itself open, yet it showed up when I opened Word 2004 for the first time since dragging the BE folder across.

Is there any way of getting BE to 'understand' that I'm trying to use it with Word 2008, not 2004?

Thanks!

Word 2008 and Word 2004 use completely different mechanisms for interacting with Bookends. There is no add-in or toolbar for Word 2008, there are AppleScripts that you should be installed. They are in Bookends 10 Folder/Add-ins for MS Word/Word 2008 Scripts, and the instructions for their installation are in "Microsoft Word Read Me". These AS are accessed from the Word 2008 Scripts menu (not Tools or a Toolbar).
