Dissertation title not showing up

Hi,
I have a reference that is a Ph.D. dissertation. When I drag the reference into a document I get {author's name, year, degree, pages} but no title. (The title does show up as a link when I drag the ID# into a document.) The titles always show up when the references are books or articles.
Is this expected behavior?

It looks like you are using a bibliography format to create temporary citations. This is a very bad idea. Please go to preferences and tell Bookends to cite by Content or Author, Date, Unique ID. If you want to use a format, you need to create your own. Please see the User Guide for how Bookends creates temporary citations.

Thanks. I haven't changed this preference since installing Bookends and it's already set at "Cite by: Content." I think I was expecting the dissertation title to show up because the BE user guide states (p. 39): "If there is no journal or volume entry, up to 10 words of the title will be included." I'm fine to leave things as they are, though, if this is what's expected.

I don't have know what's in the reference you have, but Bookends does its best to make an unambiguous citation. If the title is unnecessary it won't use it.
