Global change reference type

Hi Jon,

Is there a way to change a certain reference type to another en masse? I have created some user-defined types which I wish to switch back to the presets, but as far as I can tell the global change only seems to allow me to change all references in the database, not select ones (e.g., Unused 1).
The other way of doing it would be to arrange the list view by type, and change these all, but that seems impossible--it looks like you have to open every one.

Kindest regards,
Shayne

I'm not sure what you want. To redefine a Type (in Preferences)? Or to change Type A to Type B in a subset of references?

If the former, it will apply to all references. You have 27 Types, that you can define globally.

If the latter, Global Change -> Change Reference Type is the way to do it. Use the popup menu in the dialog to change in just the Hits List (which you create beforehand). If you have no Hits, that option is not provided in the popup menu, of course. This way you can make hits of the refs you want to change, and then do the global change from, say, User1 to Reprint (assuming you have made a Reprint Type in Preferences).

Thanks Jon,

The latter option, applying a global change to the hits list, works like a charm. Another happy customer.

Thanks again.
