Minimize Windows?

This problem has been annoying me for a LONG time.

I can't seem to be able to minimize my bookends window without using the mouse (I tend to rely on the keyboard more than the mouse).

The "minimize reference window" function doesn't seem to work (it is in grey).

Control-M only allows me to "mark a reference", which I find VERY annoying.

And I can't seem to be able to get keyboard preferences to fix the problem.

Any suggestions?

The minimize reference window works with the reference window (as it says), not the list window. There is no shortcut for mimimize the list view window. It wouldn't be difficult to have Option-Command-M minimize it, too.
