We have released the first video tutorial. It covers Online Search and Bookends Browser. If you have topics that you think deserve their own tutorials, please let me know.

Thanks, this is a great step. really appreciate your time and effort.
I would also like to see a video tutorial highlighting all the "gotchas" with respect to using and syncing multiple databases between 2-3 computers. this has come up a couple of times before. i would particularly like the video to highlight " what not to do " so that the databases are not ruined.
thanks again.

HI,
Thanks for the feedback. But let me say that you can't "ruin" a database via sync. If a database starts behaving badly, rebuilding it will take care of it. This has nothing to do with Sync.

I found this tutorial most useful, and appreciate you taking the time to make such a good one. I'm not sure what other topics are most important in a general sense, but here are a few that occur to me:
- working with term lists (things like finding all the references that use a certain keyword, merging two similar keywords, and so on);
importing references from services such as CiteULike or Connotea (or Zotero/Firefox);
using cross-links effectively;
using Bookends with word-processing software to insert citations and generate reference lists;
using Bookends with notetaking software/snippet keepers to generate and refine ideas (this might not be too realistic, as there probably isn't a canonical method or easy-to-choose application to work with);
customizing Bookends to work reliably for you (using filters and different output formats and so on);
advanced Bookends (practices that many users could profitably adopt but tend not to because they're perceived as difficult; this might be essentially the same as the previous one).

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I think a tutorial on citing and scanning documents makes a lot of sense. And modifying formats and import filters. Always to do... :-)

It might also be nice to make the video tutorial(s) easier to find!
It took me quite a while to find them after I read about them in this forum. Maybe you could also link them from the FAQ and the download section? I think good video tutorials are a nice way of advertising an app (as Apple demonstrates with their heavy focus on video intros/tutorials for iWork and other Apps.)
