Download pdf from online search doesn't work

Post by waschbaer »

Hi

I performed an online search for a publication on the Web of Science. BE found the publication, and I ticked the box "download pdf" to import the reference plus the pdf into BE. However, BE only imports the reference but not the pdf file.
Can anybody tell me if that feature usually has problems?

Cheers

The automatic "get pdf" function has to be tailored to each publisher, and they are all different. In my experience, Bookends succeeds 60-80% of the time, but that can obviously differ depending on your discipline. If you find it fails often, contact tech support and we can check. If it's one in three or so that fails, then that's to be expected.

You can always switch to reference surfing on-the-fly and download the pdf by drag and drop (of the pdf proxy icon). If you can see the pdf in the Bookends browser, that always works.
