Repeated author in footnotes

Hi all,
Jon suggested I put this question to the forum.
What does anyone do when they want footnotes with multiple references to a single author? Using Turabian-type footnotes that means that one gets the author's full name on every reference. It would be more elegant, however, to have the author's name the first time and then a semi-colon followed by the next article or book title, and then a semi-colon with the next article or book title.
Currently, it seems that this can't be handled by Bookends.
Has anyone figured out a way of handling this semi-automatically?
