References by Bookends

Hello,
In various academic papers one can find two ways of presenting references.
One is the usual as it is done with Bookends, which I used to use until now, as in the following example:
‘The topic of leadership represents one of social science’s greatest disappointments’ (Sergiovanni, 1992: 2)."
The second one is as it is presented in the following example:
"and kibbutzim bringing successes and growth similar to Staber’s (1989)"
How do I configure in Bookends to get the second form of reference?
TIA
