When I want to use the reference entry for the "Works cited" section in my essay I proceed via
File / Print References / OK / Preview and finally Copy / Paste the previewed printed reference into the text document.
Every now and then it happens there is no reference sensitive (my fault). Then the formatting references process shows a small panel:
Headline: "Formatting References"
Information: "Formatting >counter< of 8459" and below there is a "Stop" button. Clicking this button doesn't stop the formatting process though. I have to wait for minutes till it is through with formatting 8459 entries and then again I have to wait while Bookends is processing the print output (in this case 348 pages).
Suggestion: the Formatting References process should look at least every 1000 entries at the Stop signal and obey it.
Stop while formatting references doesn't work

Re: Stop while formatting references doesn't work
This is fixed in the next update. For now, use Command-. to abort sending the references to a printer.
