I am currently collaborating on a review. I use OS X and Bookends, the other part is using XP and Endnote. As expected, we're having big trouble controlling field codes (impossible actually) and using the same delimiters { } in addition didn't make it easier. Sigh...

However, now we're onto different delimiters and she is working without instant formatting of her Word document by Endnote. In other words, we use a very basic reference communication. She will be the one who ultimately formats the document before submitting, so she needs to have all the references from my database.

My question is: Is it possible for me to export all references, not only the hits?

Suggestions to the best way of "syncing" our DBs are most welcome!

Make all references hits (many ways to do this, including Refs => Mark -> Mark All References) and export those.

You actually can coordinate citations with an EN user. The "trick" is that the Bookends unique id should match the EN record number. Then cite using Author, Date, Unique ID (Bookends). To get the numbers to match, combine all references in an EN library, then export as an XML file. Bookends convert the record number to a unique id when the refs are imported. Now citations by either user should be picked up by the other. If you add new references to the EN library and want to add them to the Bookends library, edit the unique id in Bookends so that it's the same as the record number in EN (Option-click on the unique id in the reference window and you can change it).
