Search "notes" field of a single item?

Hi again,

Is it possible to search for a string of characters within the notes field of a particular bibliographic item? I tend to keep very long notes and often find myself squinting at the long text in search of a particular word. In Endnote such searches are made easy via the misleadingly named "Go To" command (Cmd-J), which essentially replicates in functionality the standard "Find" window of Cocoa apps. Anything similar in Bookends?

Many thanks.

There is a "Find in this reference" function. It works for the reference window, if that's where your Notes are, but not in the Notes tab (at least not now).

Thanks for the response. My notes are in the notes field, so the "Find in this reference" command does not help. Of course, I could mass-move the notes field contents to the abstract field, which is searchable, but then I lose all the advantages associated with the notes field (note stream, etc.).

I would be very relieved to see "search" for the notes field implemented in a future release.

You could also have the notes field shown in the main reference window (set in preferences), not in a separate tab, and you could then search it with the find in reference function now.
