Hi all,
I'm trying to make my first steps with Bookends and then created a database with just one entry. But obviously something went wrong with my setup: When I'm going to access the Formats Manager, I get the following message: Database Engine Error: 365826.
Another strange thing: The Formatted View isn't working, since I receive "You don't have read/write privileges for the format "...".
I think there's something wrong with my rights and the first error falls also in that category.
I'm grateful for any hint.
Thanks in advanace,
Holger
BTW: I'm using the latest version of Beookends (10.6.1) on SL (10.6.2).

Re: Database Engine Error: 365826
Hi,
Both errors mean you don't have read/write permission to the format(s). Make sure that you have read/write permission for the Formats folder, Custom Formats folder, and all the formats in each.

Re: Database Engine Error: 365826
Hi Jon,
Thank you very much for your help, that worked.
Is there a better way than putting r/w rights for an ordinary user (i.e. not my admin account) on an (sub)folder in the applications directory?
Regards,
Holger

Re: Database Engine Error: 365826
Each user who has a serial number for Bookends on the machine must have read/write privileges to format files, Bookends databases, and Bookends 10 Preferences in their accounts. If this doesn't answer your question, please contact me off-forum.
