Chicago A: questions from a newcomer

Post by frvs »

Hello,

I am an unhappy Endnote user and brand new to this list. I have been trying out Bookends for a couple days to find whether it might be an alternative to EN. I mostly use the Chicago A style, and there are a couple of improtant things I haven´t been able to figure out yet:
1) How to automatically put em dashes in front of the names of repeated authors;
2) How to add just the author's surname plus short title and pages in all citations after the first.

Many thanks!

Hi Francisco,

This feature will be added in 8.0.5.
2) How to add just the author's surname plus short title and pages in all citations after the first.
Create a custom citation format, and use the secondary order field in the format for the way you want the citation to be output after the first time. Details on this, and much more, can be found in the User Guide (a separate download from our site).
