the reference which is supposed to be imported to a static group is always imported to 'All', I have to drag it each time from 'All' to the 'static group'. If it's possible that the reference from internet search can be directly imported to the group I am working with and also saved in 'All' as default?

Please follow this up directly to tech support. And in that tell me exactly what steps you are taking to import.

After getting the information I needed from supershang, I'll post the answer here.

You can import directly into a static group from the Online Search window by drag and drop. That is, drag the reference(s) you want to import to the group you want to import to. Bookends will add the references to that static group.
