I'm currently considering the upgrade, but one feature that I hoped would come is still missing, and that is improved annotation in the style of Sente. This is not to belittle all of the work that has clearly been done on Bookends, but Sente's annotation/note-taking features are the one thing that every so often makes me consider a switch. What I like most about Sente are the following:
(1) How annotations automatically end-up in the notes
(2) How you can include screenshots in their notes (great for charts, graphs, etc.)
(3) How all of this automatically includes a link to the documents page number
(4) How their markup tools are also very easy for PDFs

Any chance any of these might be implemented in the future?

I can't comment on what will appear in future versions of Bookends (we usually don't discuss new features until they have actually been implemented). We've improved note streams in Bookends 11, which may address some the things you'd like to see. But if it helps I can tell you that there are no plans in the near future for adding things like graphics to notes (you can attach any graphic to a reference and view it, of course) or markup tools within Bookends itself.
