assigning ratings using keyboard shortcuts?

Post by michaelward »

Hi,

is there a way of assigning ratings using keyboard shortcuts? The shortcuts for the color labels are very handy, something similar for the 5 star ratings would be great. That way we can mark papers of interest without our hands leaving the keyboard (sounds trivial but pretty vital when working with large numbers of refs)

Most of the good Modifier-Command-# combos are already used. I suppose I could add Shift-Option-Command-1 through 5 as the rating shortcut, if that would be helpful.

Note that now you could create 5 static groups (1 star through 5 star) and assign them numbers 1-5. Then could add any reference to the corresponding group (in the List View) with that Command-# combination.

The shortcuts you suggest would do it nicely if you get time to put them in. (Funnily enough they are what I use in iTunes)
