Alphabetical order with diacritics in the reference browser

Post by kjmatthews »

Since Bookends accurately alphabetizes author names even when they include diacritics when generating a bibliography, I am curious why it does not correctly alphabetize when sorting by name in the reference browser. This is merely annoying when López comes after Lyotard, but borders on egregious when Álvarez comes immediately after Zapata and before Žižek. Can anything be done about this?

Sure. You have the option in Preferences to sort by ASCII (faster) or Unicode (what you want).
