Changing font colour for citations

This might be a very easy thing to do but I could see a way to modify the font colour of citations in the text of articles. Specifically, I need to have my references as follows: (Smith et al 2006). Is there an easy way to do this and if it is complicated, could someone make the instructions idiot proof!?!

Best wishes,

Neil

Hi,

No, Bookends can't do that automatically. You could change the color of the text in the actual references, and in that case you'd see the color passed on to the formatted reference (assuming you used a custom citation format), but the parentheses would still be black.

One thing you could try as a workaround is to give your citations some weird kind of formatting which you don’t use anywhere else (bold and italics, for example) and then use a find & replace style/formatting kind of method to change the formatting to straight and blue. How exactly to do this depends on your word processor, of course…
