New note stream formatting

Dear list members,
as Egyptologist by training, sometimes I need to write notes with hieroglyphs or adding tables to them. I am still in version 10, but as far as I understood, a full note field like a sort of text processing file is not implemented yet. I come from Notabene, and in that case, I could type paste hieroglyphs from my hieroglyphic text processor, or I could attach images or photos to the note file. As far as I know, this is not possible to be done with Bookends, but I need Devonthink at least.
My question is whether there is a workaround possible in order to be able to create a full note within Bookends, and whether a full note stream formatting - I have not found a better way of calling it - is something planned for the future.
I also understand that I might be one of the few having such a problem, so possibly is not one of the major tasks for the programmer... :D

Thanks a lot for any reply,

Hi,

I'm not sure exactly what you're after, but if t he hieroglyphs are characters in a font, Bookends should handle it. If they are graphics, you can attach them (like any other graphic), but of course Bookends doesn't know what they are and you can't search for them.

Dear John,
thanks for the reply. Yes, the hieroglyphs will be pasted as graphics. I did not give a real try for it, and I am not at the moment in front of my Mac, but to a PC, so I cannot give a real try, but I will let you know about it sometime after the weekend.

Thanks a lot for the prompt answer. :P

Hi, OK. You want to use the attachment feature (not paste into Notes). You can attach one or more of most types of image files (pdfs, jpgs, tiffs, gifs, etc.) to a reference and view it from within Bookends. If you have any questions about how to do this, please contact tech support (support@sonnysoftware.com) and we'll walk you through it.
