Attach and autocomplete

Post by niklas »

Hi,
It seems that, for me, the "import attachment to a new reference and autocomplete" option when dragging a pdf to the bookends window was broken with 11.0.8. Now, the pdf is always attached to the reference that is selected in the database window. Has anyone else experienced this, or is it a problem with my database?

Hi,

It is broken if Bookends found a doi in the pdf and is using it to fetch the metadata. This is an unintended side effect of adding CrossRef as a source of the metadata, and it has been fixed in an alpha build of the next update. While waiting for that, you can use the normal Autocomplete Paper after attaching (Ref menu) to get the reference information.

"Import reference from Internet and then attach" is also broken....at least sometimes it attaches the pdf to an existing reference even if "Import reference from Internet..." is activated

If you mean with drag and drop and a doi was detected, yes, that's the same problem. It's fixed in the next update.
