Consolidating Bookends archive

Post by Zrinka »

Is it possible to automatically consolidate Bookends archive by copying linked attachments to Bookends archive. If not, I would like to propose it as a feature enhancement for one of the next updates. Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for, but it may be this: use File -> Export References (Hits) and check the box "Export attachments too".

"File -> Export References (Hits) and check the box "Export attachments too""

That's half way to what I was looking for. Now I would like to be able to import everything that was exported, but with attachments put in the default place (defined in preferences). Even better, make it an option so that we can choose directory in which they are going to reside. Current import doesn't seem to do that. Thanks for your fast reply.

You can import everything that was exported to the default folder (defined in preferences). But they were presumably there in the first place, no? And in any case now you'll have two copies of each pdf, because the "Export attachments too" feature makes a copy of the attachments, it leaves the originals where they were.

You can also choose which subdirectory (in the default folder) the attached files will go to -- either in the Attach Dialog box, or File -> Set Default Attachment Subfolder.
