When I scan a document that has a roman numeral at the end of the series title (The Works of Saint Augustine: A Translation for the 21st Century, II), the second of the roman numerals is converted to lower case. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

In preferences, where you tell Bookends what words to exclude when applying Title Case (Scan & Bib tab).
Please take the time to go through the Bookends Tutorial.pdf and the video tutorials (both accessible from the Help menu). Spend some time looking through the User Guide in sections covering topics you are working with (e.g. formatting). The User Guide covers this and of course much more you will find useful. Then if you have specific "how-to" questions please address them to support@sonnysoftware.com.
