need help w/moving PDF from BE browser buggyness

Anyone else having this issue:

I've got the Adobe PDF plugin that gives BE headaches turned off.

I open the BE browser and go to a boomarked journal website and select a PDF file which opens for viewing fine.
I right click on the hatched square at the upper right side of the BE browser window and select "Attach PDF to new empty reference in XX database and autocomplete paper"
The autocomplete window opens BUT shows the PDF of whatever reference happened to be highlighted last in the reference window of BE, thus I can run the autocomplete by typing in the info of the new paper I am trying to import and get a new reference in BE that has the wrong pdf file attached to it AND I've lost the old reference that went to the PDF file sitting in BE from the start.

In short, I don't get my new PDF file into BE, I get a new reference for the PDF I can't import, I lose the reference of an existing PDF, and the existing PDF is now associated with the new (wrong) reference file.

good times all around...any ideas how to stop this evil behavior?

Did you Rebuild or Repair the database?
