Insert Superscrip number instead of numbers in parenthesis

How do I get bookends (v11.0.9) to insert a superscripted number instead of a number in parenthesis. e.g. I get (1) and I want it superscripted above the last word ( I hope this makes sense!)

Sure, it's just a checkbox in the format Citations tab. See the Nature format for an example.
