Italic Bibliography Numbers

Post by Eric G »

Hi--
The journal I'm submitting to wants italic numbers in the bibliography. I can't find a way to do it. As close as I can come is the:

Biblio... -> Formats Manager ... ->Bibliography Options Tab

[Check] Number References
Punctuate with: [ ]#[.]

Is there anyway to put a control value in the text boxes to turn on italics and then turn them off? Is there another way that I'm missing?

Thanks for any help.

Turn off the automatic numbering and build your own numbering output. You use the # symbol to indicate you want the sequential reference number output (see the Special Characters popup). So your format order might look something like:

#. a, t (d).

Note that the # is in italics, this should be done for all Types you use, and automatic numbering must be unchecked.
