Frequent prompts for database rebuild

Hello,

I have been using Bookends to sync my database to a portable HDD which is then synced between two machines (home <-->portable HDD<-->work). In the past, this has worked very well. But recently, I've been prompted to rebuild my database almost every time I run a complete sync between one machine to my portable HDD and to the other machine. I've tried a getting rid of all versions of the database except one I had recently verified and rebuilt. But even this has resulted in prompts for rebuild. Can anyone advise me on how I can restore integrity to my BE database?

Thanks,

Will

I'm guessing you're being prompted to rebuild the remote database, not the local one. Have you done that?

I've tried this but the fact that sync was active (upon open/close) made it difficult to resolve whether or not I had actually resolved the corruption problem. Another approach I've tried and just tried again this morning is to take the database copy that I know has been verified and rebuilt and copy it to the sync destination. So I'm taking a database on my work machine, copying it to the portable HDD, and then setting up a sync between those copies. My thinking is that this arrangement will ensure that I do not have any corruption between those databases. Provided that the copy on my home machine has been verified and rebuilt, if necessary, this should ensure that I won't have corruption problems. Is this sound thinking?

Yes, it's exactly what I was going to suggest next if you still had problems.
