Hello,

After completing to insert the information of a citation into the DB, and then Copy Citation into the Mellel file I am working on, I have noticed that in some occurrences BE shows a window which asks me to choose which page the citation is referring to, ( If I understood it correctly) and in some cases this does not appear.
I was looking at the Preferences, and couldn't find any configuration for it, and read the User Guide in what is concerned to the Copy Citation issue, and could not find any clue to my query.
Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

Doesn’t sound familiar to me - can you make post a screenshot of this?

You must have chosen Edit -> Copy Citation And Modifiers (Control-Command-Y) by mistake.

Yes, this is what happened to me.
Ori Redler thought me a technique how to add a page number to a citation in time ago.
I have tried it and it works very fine.
The popup menu is not yet clear to its activities, I hope to find out, or to guide me what can be dome with.

Have you lost the User Guide? I'll send you another if you need it.

Thank you. I haven't lost it, but I can't avoid the pleasure from you to send the user guide to me, so, go on. I have tried your very good and detailed User `Guide, but it is too complicated for my level in English.
I have no other alternative but to ask here, and each time I am doing it, I am praying that Jon would not be too nervous at me, which, this time, didn't work. Sadly.

The relevant section is on p. 257, "Copy Citation And Modifiers…". There are pictures as well as text, so that may help. I've sent the User Guide as an email attachment. It's 10 MB, hopefully it will get through. Perhaps there is a friend, or someone else reading this, can explain it better than I.

Or, may be another member of this helpful forum. You are very helpful, but not very much for beginners, where you are loosing your patience in some cases when issues are seen to you obvious, and it is naturally for you, but not for anyone. Working with software and understand how it functions, is not only a question of understanding English, but as well being able to follow and to be able to practice all stuff and instructions.

I would like to explain you, may be better my point. I am member of an Israeli listserv, and most of the members are MacUsers living in Israel, so English is not their problem.
On this list questions are asked and answers are given. I would like to present an example of Mac assistance done properly. The question is below:

"You seem to have made an erroneous connection between the messages being sent and received via your iCloud e-mail account, and the way you can interact with those messages in the respective e-mail applications of Lion and iOS 5. All the messages that you compose (including sent and drafts) or receive using your iCloud e-mail account, as well as their associated folders are automatically synchronized and stored between the cloud (a marketing euphemism for a remote server) and your devices (MacBook Pro and iPad).

While the Mail application in Lion has borrowed many of the visual elements of the iPad's user-interface, Mac OS X Mail is a much more robust e-mail client due in no small part to the processing power and the storage capacity available to it. As you've already deduced, the text formatting capabilities are more limited on your iPad than on your MacBook Pro, but starting with iOS 5 you can still do some formatting when composing a message in iOS Mail. Below is brief explanation how:

Select a word or block of text.
Tap the ◀ (right arrow) button from the pop-up menu that appears above the selected word or block of text.
Tap the BI U button, and then tap either the Bold, Italics or Underline button.

You can also increase or decrease the Quote Level of the text of a message reply.

In regard to searching messages in iOS Mail, previously you’ve only been able to search the From, To, and Subject fields, but iOS 5 also lets you search the body of messages, as well. When using the search field, which you access by scrolling up past the first message in any mailbox, just type your search term and choose the All option, and any messages that match your search term appear in the list below.

I have updated my computer with Lion and my iPad 2 is current. I am having trouble conceptualizing how syncing between the two actually happens with Cloud. The reason is that my format for email on my laptop has all the bells and whistles but the email on my iPad even though I have iCloud account doesn't look as elaborate.

In addition, I am having trouble doing searches on the iPad in comparison to my laptop MacPro. Any thoughts?"

This sort of assistance is very helpful. I understand you are very busy person, and I hope others on the list will be of help when integrating into the explanations. And, as I wrote is not an issue of knowing a language.

And thank you for the trouble you take by sending me User Guide which I wrote you I have. Is it a symbolic gesture from your side?

I've been answering your questions for years, and your English is certainly adequate. I've tried, but my explanations are incomprehensible to you, as apparently is the User Guide. There is no point in continuing this thread. If you have specific technical problems, write to tech support. If you want walkthroughs and tutorials, post here and perhaps someone can explain it better than I. I'll stay in the background

No, you said I should send it again (which I did, thinking perhaps the one you had was outdated). It was no trouble.

This is my last post on this thread.
If I understand you well you authorise me to continue to ask questions on your forum, hopefully, someone would be able to assist me, Am I correct?
I have always thanked you for your valuable help.
When your attempt to assist me didn't work I have tried to explain it to you. I am appreciating the sotware you have created, and trying to cross the high water when they are on my way.

Thanks` once again

Yes, of course. I'm hoping that others will be able to do a better job of explaining things to you than I am.
