Do you have any plans to support Lion/Mountain-Lion-esque fullscreen mode?

That will come with Cocoa.

You're working on a Cocoa rewrite?

We already have an internal build of Reference Miner that is Cocoa. Bookends is much more complex, of course, but it will come.

Sounds great. Under my old username (for which I've forgotten the password), we've had a short discussion on this many years ago.

so those of us knee-deep in phd deadlines can have something to look forward to, could you tell us some of the bigger improvements that a cocoa build of bookends will provide?

No big improvements that I'm aware of (I've been saying this for years -- it's just a framework, like Carbon, not magical). But it will some correct some issues that affect the Carbon release (some cosmetic drawing artefacts, the fact that WebKit can grab the focus for some users and interfere with live search, etc.), allow for system spell check and full screen view, make some cute effects possible (like changing window transparency), and of course form the basis for future development of Bookends.
