extra comma leads certain citations

In formatting numbered endnotes, I've created a reference type called Endnote for footnote-like comments, which may or may not contain citations. When I place the reference, because there is no date or author (I'm using the title field for the note), the copied citation (using author, date, unique ID style), inserts something like

test{, #91135}

This gets formatted after scanning like this:

test[sup], 1[/sup]

So, there's this extra comma in there. Seems like it shouldn't work this way, since I've got the citation separator set to ";".

you can reproduce this bug without any file from me. Create a citation with no author or date (use the title field). Copy citation to Word, scan document for numbered endnotes, and... boom, wrongly formatted superscript with leading comma.
