Converting Word files from endnote to bookends

Greetings - I'm using the trial version of bookends. So far I like it a lot more than endnote and I'll probably buy it. I have several documents that I started to mark up with endnote, and I wonder if there is any way to convert them to bookends without having to manually reinsert the citations. Is this possible?
thanks

Perhaps.
If you export/import from EN to Bookends via XML, Bookends will make your EN reference number the Bookends unique ID. Thus, citations that contain references to the EN record number, such as
#12345
will work with Bookends.
Try this with a small document (or a piece of a larger one):
1. Transfer up to 50 refs to Bookends via XML
2. Unformat your Word document (i.e. get back the original citations if you used CWYW).
3. If you used the temp citation markers {} you're set. If you used [], you need to tell Bookends (in Preferences).
4. Scan the document and see what happens...
