Hi.
I am currently using Bookends 1138, reverted because of a bug in 1210, which is still not resolved in 1211 (concerning the inability of Bookends to render Authors in footnote citations in Small Cap.
Anyway, now I am having another problem. I have written several pages of work. Thought of doing a scan to see if everything goes well.
The outcome is disastrous!!!
I have pre-set styles (Chapters, headings 1, 2, 3, etc) in microsoft word. This allows me to create table of contents and other thing that would automatically update themselves in the future.
All these done, text written, citations inserted. I did a scan.
But the problem is that after the scan, I have lost the styles which I created before hand. (may be not complete lost. But Bookends messes it all. For example, My chapter heading should be BOLD, CAPITALS, my main text, following the modified normal template, should be 1.5 lining and Justified with Indentation.
But the outcome is I lost BOLD for Chapter, main text is NOT JUSTIFIED but along text left, lining is 1.0 (See attached screen shots)
Where is the problem? Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Re: Scanning issue
I have just found the solution! Just in case anyone wants to know.
The problem is not with Bookends. It is with Microsoft words. If any new style is created, it needs to be added to ten templates:
Format - styles - modify - add to template
Otherwise, Bookends would simply use the default templates available in word.
Cheers!

Re: Scanning issue
My default response is to blame word before any other program on a Mac. It honestly is a terrible (albeit convenient) program.
