make common settings into "specific" settings?

I think it's a bit unfortunate that the "page range" settings are only adjustable for all reference types at once. For instance, some manuals of style require a colon in a citation of a journal and a comma for all other types. Under the present circumstances, however, that's impossible to do.
Also, it'd be helpful to have one setting for a long citation and another one for a short citation. Some formats don't like a comma before a page range in a long citation (when preceded by round brackets), whereas a comma is obviously needed before a page range of a short citation.
