Hello,

I am fairly new to BE. I'm looking to create a new reference type (I'm on a commission tasked to receive, catalogue, and process submissions from members) and I'd like to create a special type for this. I can't find anything in the manual or tutorial that takes me through the steps, and when I search the forums the server responds that the terms of my query (new+reference+type+create) are too common.

Is there anyone who can direct me somewhere?

You do this in Preferences (Refs tab). There is a list of Types, many are Unused. Click twice on Unused 1 and rename it. That's it, you've created a new Type. You can also edit the names of the fields of that Type if you want on the same tab.
