License for desktop/laptop

Hi
I've got a single user license for Bookends, but I'd like to be able to work on my laptop when at work and my desktop when at home. Because only one copy with the license will run on the network at any one time I can't set up syncing. Should I be doing something else for this scenario like using Dropbox/USB stick etc? I'm hoping not...

cheers

Michael

You misunderstand syncing. Bookends should only be running on one computer -- in fact, if the database is open on both computers, Bookends will refuse to sync. Bookends is not a networkable database, and two copies of Bookends can't open the same database at the same time (and if it could, bad things could happen). All Bookends needs to sync to a database is the path to the remote database -- it's just a file, and Bookends will reconcile it's contents with the contents of the local database.

Please see the user guide (Help menu) for how to set up syncing -- there are three scenarios laid out. Ideally, both machines will sync with a third database on a server, a database that is never opened by you, but exists in the cloud (so to speak) for syncing only.
