separate reference window?

Everything looks great, but how do I get rid of the permanently attached reference pane and get a separate window to edit a reference?
You can't, it has been removed. It's a holdover from the old days when that window was the main interface for Bookends, and it was time it was retired. I posted this a while ago on the forum for discussion:
