occasionally profs or publisherrs prefer p. or pp. to come before pages which are decided. I understand how the ^ works according to the User Guide, (p.117), but i am unclear if this only works when you are getting the page field output as well. Will the formatter recognize whether it not it needs to put in pp. instead of p. if you have attached the page(s) in the word processor (i.e. @23.)? Thanks, Danny

Yes, it will. In the "before" cited pages field (in the format), you could put, for example,

, p. ^^, pp.

If there was a single page, you'd get something like

, p. 14

and if there was a range you'd get

, pp. 14-16
