Smooth scrolling?

Hi all,
One of the things that bother me a little in BE is the bad scrolling behavior when I am browsing my collection. In multiple column view, that's not really a big deal since line heigh is pretty low, but when navigating in single column view or in the note stream it becomes pretty annoying, making looking for a specific item sometimes tricky. Overall, while BE is (for me) the best reference manager out there on the mac, I find it still not blending nicely in the Apple ecosystem. I could add to this that the UI is a little too reticulated (the lower toolbar is useless IMO; everything could/should be located in the main toolbar), but that's not exactly the subject here (though it is connected to the lack of great OS X integration). Do we have any chance to see a major UI refreshing in the future, especially integrating smooth scrolling behavior?
I'd be curious to know about the feeling of other users about it. I know cosmetic points are not critical aspects of a software, but it impacts the way we (like to) use it, and I believe most of us chose to work on a Mac for a reason.
Thanks and cheers,
Ben

We just went through a major UI overhaul, another is not planned. As for the control strip at the bottom, I think you are off-base (it specifies the view, the toolbar primarily performs actions). Sorry you don't like it, but you can't please everyone. As for the scrolling behavior (scrolling one line at a time), I think it it works as one would expect. But in any case, it's not something that can be modified.

Hi Ben,

Since clicking the buttons for Tag cloud, Browser, Formatted reference, and Attachments *all* open up a new corresponding window located in the *lower* part of the screen, it's logical to have those buttons in the lower toolbar, I find.

It would be nice though to have more action buttons in the toolbar, if possible. Best would be, of course, if the user could add and delete custom toolbar items individually.

Totally agree! And it would be nice to have some colors: after a while the grey all around is annoying!

Sure wether or not unifying all the icons in one (upper) main toolbar remains a matter of taste. I really do not complain about this, but rather give a subjective opinion). However the scrolling behavior is another story. I really believe that it is part of the OS X ecosystem and that it makes browsing huge collections more easily. But again, that's just me. Thanks for the answers anyway.
Cheers,
Ben
