A large part of my academic researches are now done on the Internet.

Is there any hope of getting a Safari plug-in for Bookends soon, that would be able to [1] import the URL, [2] the name, [3] and perhaps also download the article itself, either as webarchive or PDF directly into Bookends Attachments folder, or to the Desktop?

That would eliminate the necessity of having to do all the tedious and repetitive steps involved in this routine manually.

As of now, are AppleScripts or anything similar available to speed up entering references found on the Internet? I'm mainly thinking about online journal and newspaper articles.

Thank you for drawing my attention to the bookmarklet. I was not aware that such a fine tool existed.

I tried it with three leading international newspapers (The New York Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung). I used "Attach Web Page To New Internet Reference In [name of my Bookends Library]".

The Title of the newspaper article, Access Date, and Access Year were all grabbed correctly, but the URL was wrong in all three cases.

Try this one, and see if you get the same result as I.

Instead of the above mentioned URL, I get this:
http://api.adrtx.net/thirdparty/iframe. ... 1970056800

In The New York Times the URL should be:
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/04/us/gu ... v=top-news

but I get:
http://3951336.fls.doubleclick.net/acti ... 373353.094?


Am I doing something wrong?

No. Bookends is picking up the URLs of the adserver requests being generated by those web pages. So far I haven't found a way to filter then out, but I'll keep trying.
