[1-3] instead of [1, 2, 3]

Post by kga1978 »

Hi Jon,

Using Mellel as my WP I have multiple instances of several consecutive references one after the other. It goes like this: text {ref1}{ref2}...{refN} (replacing }{ with ; doesn't make a difference). When I format my references I get text [1,2...,N], but what I really want is text [1-N]. Is there a way to force this to happen each time? I'm using the Science format right now and it won't do 1-N, but the Nature format seems to be doing it correctly. I have looked through the Formats settings, but I can't seem to find a way to change this behavior.

Thanks
Jon

If the citation objects in Mellel are abutting each other (no space or other punctuation between) Bookends should give you (1-n). I see Science isn't working here, probably because the italic numbers is throwing it off. I'll have to fix that.

The problem with italicized number ranges in scanned Mellel documents is fixed in the next update.
