[Feature Request] Focus the search field for "Link to" integration with word processors

Hi, I use Scrivener and there is "Link to" integration with Bookends using ⌘Y which is very efficient. However when I switch from Scrivener to BE, IMO it would make sense that the search field in the toolbar was focussed. That would mean I could press ⌘Y in Scrivener then immediately type the author name directly without having to reach for the mouse[1]. Both Endnote "Insert Citation" and Papers "Magic citations" seem to offer a search interface directly when inserting a ref, and this would be a quick way for BE to offer similar or greater efficiency.

I have only seen Magic citations being used I don't own Papers so it is difficult to compare (but does look very streamlined). Endnote does use a search interface, but it is not clearly keyboard accessible, and as usual not very well designed.

[1] I probably missed it, is there a keyboard binding for "Focus search field" in Bookends, that would help...

Ah found it, live search focus is ⌘⌥F so it makes this somewhat easier, still it is ⌘Y and then ⌘⌥F so one extra unnecessary keybinding.

Having the search field selected when pressing Command-Y in Scrivener would have to be implemented by Scrivener. It is not a Bookends function. I very much doubt they would implement that, but you can ask them.

Scrivener can't easily customise this behaviour either, but another BE user cassady suggested to use keyboard maestro, I link it below as other BE users may find this useful. I use Quicksilver so I should be able to use its triggers to customise the behaviour, as keyboard maestro does. Another user on the scrivener forum did remind me the cool thing about Papers 3 magic citations GUI, is its search system is universal, a single keystroke brings it up for any other software. I think this is the nicest interface to quickly searching for refs, and something similar for Bookends would be a nice workflow addition.
