Apple spelling check implementation?

I haven't found any information in respect to an implementation of Apple's system-wide spelling checker function into Bookends. Are there any plans to implement this? It would be extremely useful! (I recently switched from Endnote to Bookends and absolutely love the software - making the switch from Word/Endnote to Mellel/Bookends was the best decision I made in a long time, software-wise).

That's for Cocoa apps. Bookends is Carbon. They may merge in future updates (we'll see), but for now the answer is no.

I think CocoaASpell will work (as a Service)...

Even Spell Catcher will work (as a Service). Can recommend it!

...yet it seems CocoASpell has been rolled into the Edit->Spelling menu which is not available in BE. There is no service anymore, unfortunately. Would anybody have a suggestion as to a spell checker that works as a service in BE and that is freeware. I am reluctant to spend about $30 for SpellChecker or the like, since I will use it with BE only.

Thanks,
Matthias
