Alias for reference types

My style uses many different versions for Book. Pretty soon I will run out of options in BE because there are only 20 available; I still have to replicated other ref types too. Is there anyway BE can offer aliases for ref types?

No. I assume many of the reference types are similar (and are formatted similarly). If so, you can use the same Type for related references and define your own Types (for searching, for example) and put them in a user field.
