Microsoft Word 64 bit version - compatibility with Bookends

Is the recently released MIcrosoft Word for Mac and the 64 bit version compatible with Bookends? I am escpeciallt thinking of the "scan" command. This news release (http://www.macrumors.com/2016/08/22/mic ... t-support/) claim that plugins/add-ins has to be upgraded by the developer to support the 64 bit version.

There is no Bookends plugin. There are AppleScripts, which should work.
