autocomplete paper vs autofill from internet > different sources?

I imported an old Nature pdf
Doolittle, WF. 1978. “Genes in Pieces: Were They Ever Together.” Nature 272 (5654): 581–82, doi:10.1038/272581a0.

The pdf contains just images no text and consequently Bookends could not find the metadata. I looked up the doi on the Nature website and entered it into the doi-field of autocomplete paper. No luck!
Yet, when I did a "autofill from internet" the metadata import worked.
Do both features look up the data in different sources? Shouldn't the result be the same?

Thanks

It depends on what online repository you used in Autocomplete Paper. PubMed or CrossRef would no doubt work. If they didn't, this is a tech support issue, not one for the forum.

Thanks, your answer is already very helpful.
I did not know that a click on the PubMed logo on the lower right corner of the autocomplete-paper-window opens a dialogue, where I can choose the source.
Yet, autofill-from-internet seems to use them all, at once.
