Insert text inside a citation

Is it possible to insert a portion of text inside a citation (I need to use Chicago 15th)? For instance:
{Gray, 2008, The Bob Dylan encyclopedia, xii, 756} (1st edition 2006)
I would like to insert the text in parenthesis inside the citation. If I use the \ like this:
{Gray, 2008, The Bob Dylan encyclopedia, xii, 756\(1st edition 2006)}
I will get a strange citation which ends with a semicolon.
Thanks for any help.
Have a good day.

You should terminate the literal quote like this:

{Gray, 2008, The Bob Dylan encyclopedia, xii, 756\(1st edition 2006)\}
