JSTOR search question

Post by lyndondrake »

Hi,

I'm trying to use the JSTOR.fltr search, but it gives very different search results to those I get from searching using the JSTOR web interface. For example, if I search for "Soss Old Testament Law" in Bookends, I get this result:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/iznztoxn1jl7c ... 9.png?dl=0

But if I search using the JSTOR web interface, I get this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1xnfpmkdn01yg ... 0.png?dl=0

which includes as its second result the article I'm after. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

Best regards,
Lyndon

Nothing. The Bookends direct JSTOR search uses the JSTOR APIs, it's independent of their web interface. What is returned via these two paths is dependent on JSTOR's internal algorithms, not Bookends.
