Articles downloaded from the website of the top German publisher, Walter de Gruyter, are missing their page numbers.

They have DOI, and everything. The page numbers are available in the website.

Jon: Can you check it if it can be corrected?

Bookends doesn't get the page numbers from the web site, in this case it's probably getting the metadata from CrossRef. I haven't looked in Bookends yet, but when you plug that DOI into CrossRef (in your browser) there are no page numbers given, just volume and issue.

interesting!...since BE can directly open the websites when I use the browser, I assumed it is getting the data from the publisher's website.

You don't need to worry about this then. I will fill them up manually.

Dellu, are you a German linguist? If yes, what bibliographic format do you use?
I ask because I couldn't find a format in Bookends for German literature (Germanistik), so I had to create one myself.

Oh, I just found the answer in another thread ("help me with the format manager"). I see you created your own format.

I would though still be interested in hearing what format most German linguists follow today.

NO, I am not German. I am in Norway. The publisher, degruyter, happen to publish some great, international standard linguistic journals.

And, the format I am using is tuned to export Latex bibliography. If you are in the same direction, you can look at my format for the Journal article (which is pretty standard: except some tweaks to include the links to the file...)
