[Feature Request] Applescript event to create a group

I would like to be able to create a group in Bookends using Applescript, which I think according to the User Manual is not currently possible? The usecase is that I've started using (user1) BibTex like citation style, and I'd like to be able to make a script that scans a formatted manuscript and creates a group with the cited references in Bookends.
