Something strange is happening with the Formatted Reference menu in the Display Pane. When I switch to another application and back to Bookends, the selected format has changed, to the first format on the menu's list. If I re-select the original format in the Display Pane, the format selected in the Biblio > Default Format menu changes to the first format on the list!

Try setting the format with Biblio -> Default Format. Does it stick now?

No, when I set the format with Biblio > Default Format, it switches when I move the focus to another application then back to Bookends.

Aha! I think the problem is linked to a format I created for Brain & Behavioral Sciences. The "&" seems to be problematic: it does not display in the menu. If I set the default to a format other than this one, it sticks.
